Today, I got to witness little cake chefs in action.

There was a lot of yelling, smashing, over-decorating, crying, not knowing what to do next, and then more smashing and yelling. It was a fun-filled, hilariously over-the-top birthday party put together for Lucy.

The goal was simple: make colourful, tasty-looking cupcakes for their parents to munch on. But by the end of it, everything had become disfigured… scary, even.

And the way the kids presented their masterpieces to their parents was hilarious. The looks on Mum and Dad's faces were Oscar-worthy too.

I'm glad I got to be part of the whole thing.
